(www.sunsmarthomes.ca) was the general contractor for the build, bringing their expertise in "green" building practises to the project.

WHY GREEN: It is becoming more and more critical, that we build sensibly and tread lightly on our environment. The footprint of the home is compact with the lower level which is built into the hill providing foyer, bedroom, bathroom and utility room space. The upper floor, which opens onto a covered screen porch and hilltop, features a large open plan with spectacular wrap around windows to take advantage of the wonderful lake and hillside views. The construction will also feature geo-thermal heating and cooling, rain water harvesting systems, energy efficient windows and doors, 'sips panel' wall and roof construction and environmentallly friendly interior finishes.
